Cruelty Investigations Academy (CIA)

Certified Animal Cruelty Investigation Training

The Cruelty Investigators Academy (CIA) provides law enforcement and animal welfare/animal control personnel with training that equips them with the tools needed for animal cruelty investigations.

This multi-level academy was designed for the humane investigator – federal, state and local officers who must investigate animal crimes, district attorneys and prosecutors who are involved with animal cruelty cases, department of agriculture deputies and veterinarians as well as others who routinely conduct animal cruelty investigations.

In keeping with Code 3’s history of providing quality training while evolving with the needs of those working in humane investigations, we are transitioning our animal cruelty training from three 5-day courses to five 3-day courses. In adjusting the 120 hour cruelty investigations curriculum, all current topics will be covered with the addition of new subject matter plus more hands-on, practical and discussion exercises.
